The village

On our big farm Huadoi we have built a small village, with two houses, one Akha house and one Lahu house. The houses are there to show visitors the conditions of which our children come from. At the same time the children are reminded of and connected to their roots.

A few of the older girls have been trained to give a guided tour in English. They bravely stand before our visitors, dressed in traditional clothes telling the story about their culture and way of living. For anyone up for the experience, there is opportunity to spend a night at the houses sleeping on nothing else than a straw mat.
